NOW stands for New Opportunities For Wellness, and it is an organization dedicated to empowering individuals and neighborhoods impacted by violence.
In the wake of challenging times, communities have the potential to heal, grow, and build a brighter future together. NOW aims to nurture the power within community members and create spaces of healing and well-being, with a particular focus on the neighborhoods of Walnut Park East, Walnut Park West, and Baden. Let's join hands and embark on a journey towards recovery, restoration, and community renewal! Get Involved!
Creating Spaces of Healing and Well-being: NOW understands the profound impact violence can have on individuals and communities. To counteract this, through their summer cohort program, participants will have the opportunity to engage in various community healing and trauma trainings. These sessions are designed to equip individuals with the necessary tools and knowledge to address the consequences of violence, fostering resilience, and promoting emotional well-being.
Wellness Sessions and Neighborhood Events: In addition to healing and trauma trainings, NOW emphasizes the importance of holistic well-being. The summer cohort offers wellness sessions where participants can explore various practices and techniques, such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and self-care strategies. These sessions aim to restore balance, promote self-care, and create a supportive community of individuals committed to their own well-being and that of their neighborhood.
Organizing, Outreach, and Purposeful Action: NOW recognizes that true change happens when communities come together and take purposeful action. The summer cohort provides opportunities for organizing and outreach initiatives, empowering participants to actively engage in community-driven projects and initiatives. By working collaboratively, the cohort aims to address the root causes of violence, advocate for change, and foster a sense of unity and empowerment within the neighborhoods of Walnut Park East, Walnut Park West, and Baden.
Reclaiming Our Well-being and Renewing Our Communities: The core mission of NOW is to reclaim well-being and restore communities that have experienced violence. By participating in the summer cohort, individuals can be part of a collective effort to recover from trauma and transform their neighborhoods. Together, participants will have the chance to channel their experiences of hurt and harm into positive energy, inspiring positive change and rebuilding a sense of hope, resilience, and community strength.
By joining forces, participants can contribute to creating spaces of healing, recovering from trauma, and rebuilding neighborhoods impacted by violence. Together, let us embrace the new opportunities for wellness and work towards a future where every individual and every community thrives. Join the NOW summer cohort and be a catalyst for change!
